It all began many years ago, making little things at home then moving on to making
my own clothes.
I studied Dress and Fabrics at school to ‘A’ level, achieving a top grade. Other
than that, I am pretty much completely self taught through borrowing books from the
library and attending the odd workshop now and again. My teacher at school was always
suggesting I should pursue a career in fashion or textiles design, but life took
I gather inspiration from many textile artists and love the natural world. I spent
a few years developing my skills in patchwork, quilting and applique and in recent
times, I have been experimenting with other techniques using free motion machine
embroidery and layering fabrics to produce textile art pieces.
I also love to ‘play’ with clay, originally attending an evening class to learn a
few skills to produce ceramic buttons and embellishments for my textiles work. I
continue to experiment with techniques though am yet to master the potters wheel!
On the events page I will add details of exhibitions, shows and fairs I will attend
throughout the year, so do pop back for a browse from time to time
